Introductory Remarks: Mrs Kala Kaarthikeyan

Patriji became enlightened in 1979 after some serious experiments with meditation. Since then, Patriji began striving hard to awaken and enlighten individuals. Further, in the following decade, he completed reading a large number of books on science of spirituality and science of meditation.

Patriji established "The Kurnool Spiritual Society" during the year 1990 in Kurnool with the sole mission of creating intense awareness amongst all individuals about the science of meditation and its primary role in providing physical, mental and intellectual health and well being to all.

Patriji established the first pyramid in Kurnool in 1991. Subsequently many pyramids were established throughout the country. Pyramid meditation, for the first time, was established by Patriji. Meditation when done inside a pyramid is thrice more powerful. Patriji resigned his job in the year 1992 and took to uninterrupted service to mankind. Patriji's dedicated efforts since 1992 have resulted in hundreds of Pyramid Spiritual Societies being established throughout India.

Patriji has authored over sixty books and several audio and video cassettes and CDs mostly in Telugu language on various New Age spiritual science topics. Under his guidance, books authored by great spiritual masters of the rest of the world have also been translated into Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Tamil.

In 1997, in Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), all the pyramid masters gathered and conferred the title of Brahmarishi on Patriji. He travels extensively to every nook and corner of the country including remote villages throughout the year and conducts meditation classes to individuals of all ages, education and strata. Thus far he has conducted thousands of workshops on anapanasati meditation, vegetarianism and New Age spiritual science. He travels to many other countries including US, UK and Australia.

Patriji is also a great flutist and singer, and has devised techniques combining music with meditation for very intense meditation experiences. Patriji promotes the concept of living with nature by encouraging group trekking expeditions into deep forests and promotes full night meditation sessions, particularly on full moon days.

Patriji has been honoured by a Life Time Achievement Award at the National Symposium on Science of Holistic Living and its Global Application, organised by argoyadham at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sewagram, Wardha in November 2006.

Patriji's dream is to create dhyana jagat by 2012. It is time now for the whole world to embrace the science of meditation which is anapanasati. The whole Pyramid Spiritual Societies movement is geared to achieve this.

With these words I now invite Brahmarishi Patriji to deliver the lecture

Lecture: Brahamrishi Patriji

Let us express our happiness with loud claps. It is an exercise - an exercise of togetherness.

Let me start the lecture with a brief overview of how and why I started the Pyramid Spiritual Societies. I hail from Andhra Pradesh. I entered into spiritual science in 1972 through a friend. In 1979, I became enlightened. Since then I have been teaching spiritual science to all the people. In 1992, I resigned from regular work and started teaching from village to village. The first society I started was in Kurnool - the Kurnool Spiritual Society. I believe in the positive aspect of the pyramids, therefore I built pyramids wherever I formed the Society. Therefore the Society is known as the Pyramid Spiritual Society.

18 Point Charter of the Pyramid Spiritual Society

The Society has an eighteen point charter.

  1. Meditate in the right way, i.e., anapanasati way, and help others meditate in the same way. The word anapanasati in Pali language means to keep one's total attention and awareness only on one's normal breathing process. ana means 'in-breath,' apana means 'out-breath' and sati means 'be-one-with.' There are not many ways of doing meditation. There is but one and that is anapanasati. This was the discovery of Gautama Buddha 2500 years back.
  2. Read right spiritual books and encourage others also to read the same.
  3. Exchange meditational experiences and life-wisdom readily with everyone.
  4. Spend much time every now and then in silence. We have to learn to speak frugally. We should not make extra efforts to speak more than that which is relevant and necessary. We should never speak unnecessarily. We have to earmark certain days in a week, certain hours in a day for silence. Mouna is a great thing. In silence, we understand our own greatness and everybody else's greatness. In silence, we realize our own foolishness and everybody else's foolishness too. In trying to pour more words, we invariably become foolish. One day per week for silence must be earmarked.
  5. Utilise full-moon nights for more intensive meditation. Every month, the full-moon nights are so very precious. We have to harvest the abundant energy cosmic energy which is especially available in those nights the three days around full-moon one day preceding the full-moon, the full-moon night and one day after the full-moon night. On these full-moon nights, we should do more intensive meditation.
  6. Utilize pyramid energy for meditation, as much as possible. Meditation is best done inside a pyramid, beneath the pyramid or we can have a pyramid cap on our head. Meditation is thrice more energetic and more powerful when done inside or beneath a pyramid. I did not know about the energy within the pyramid until I read the book The Secret Power of Pyramids. I was convinced of its power when I conducted an experiment. I took two tomatoes and left one inside and one outside the pyramid. While the one outside rotted in 2 days, the one inside remained fresh even after 21 days.
  7. Give-up medicines; only meditational energy helps. The physical body is nothing but the natural shadow of mind. As the mind, so will be the body. Setting right the mind, we would have set right the body. All diseases are psychosomatic - created in psyche, getting evident in the body. The true science of health demands that we look only at the mind. Spiritual health is the root and physical health is the fruit.
  8. Go vegetarian. Never eat meat or eggs. Eat according to need, not according to greed. Vegetarianism is absolutely essential for spiritual life. In fact, spirituality and vegetarianism are synonymous. Further, we can't afford to over eat. We should eat only according to our need ... not according to our greed. Only when we are hungry, we may eat.
  9. Spend much time in environments of pure nature e.g., forests, mountain-tops, river-sides etc.
  10. Never indulge in any distinctive spiritual clothing or sacred body marks. Many spiritual communities demand special clothes and special marks on the body to distinguish themselves from other spiritual denominations. Only common and ordinary attire should be the norm. Spirituality is a matter of inner achievement and there is nothing to show-off to others.
  11. Impart meditation training to children, right from their childhood.
  12. Learn to live as masters and never as disciples.
  13. Reject money exchanges in meditation-training programs. For earning money, we may sell vegetables or we may take up farming or we may sell music or we may teach a language. However earning money through teaching meditation is strictly forbidden. Teaching meditation should be absolutely free of any money constraints.
  14. Never indulge in the worship of idols, or living masters. Idols are always beautiful and sculpture is truly a fine art. However, idol worship is simply meaningless. The worship of living masters does not have any true benefit; living masters are sources of true inspiration, they are not objects of worship. We ourselves are gods. So, where is the question of worshipping any other person? The point is to bring out the essence from within our own selves through intense practice of meditation.
  15. Tackle all individual and personal problems using own meditational energy. We all have our personal problems. Our personal problems have to be tackled by our own inner meditational strength. The more we increase our personal energy, the more the external situations become conducive to our true goals. No guru can help us to ease our problems. Our problems are only challenges that are self-chosen … before we are born and they must be mostly calmly endured. Meditation gives all the capacity we need to endure challenging life situations
  16. Enjoy normal family life, and take care, as much as possible, of all other beings. Some religions prescribe sexual abstinence as if it is a necessary pre-requisite for the cultivation of the soul. However, it is far from true. Sexuality is truly a source of human happiness and sexuality and spirituality are not mutually exclusive. Pyramid masters lead normal family lives and take care of their fellow beings as much as possible.
  17. Establish meditation centers in surrounding villages, towns or cities.
  18. Publish meditational experiences and personal spiritual transformation.

The goal of Pyramid Spiritual Societies is to make the whole world vegetarian and help them to meditate. I have already made my entire village vegetarian.

Five Principal Elements

Human beings consist of five elements, represented in the five fingers of the hand. These are body (little finger), mind (ring finger), intellect (middle finger), aatma - self (index finger), and sarvatma - all that is (thumb). If you look at the baba mudra - where the thumb holds down the middle and ring fingers, and the index finger and the little finger are the only two fingers pointing upwards - the indication is that the mind and intellect are the ones that corrupt human beings and therefore need to be restrained by the sarvatma.

Three Laws of the Science of Meditation

Three laws govern the science of meditation. They are

  1. When you are with simple, normal, soft, tender breath, then your mind is empty .
  2. When the mind is rather empty, cosmic energy flows through your mind easily.
  3. When your body is filled with cosmic energy, it gets converted to kinetic energy.

Constant practice is required to make meditation perfect. If you want to become Buddha, you have to meditate regularly. Spiritual meditation is the same for everyone, irrespective of your religious belief. It cannot be different, because it is not subjective and it is a science.

There is no "best" time for meditating. Anytime is good. How much you need to meditate depends on your age. If you are five years old, you need to meditate for five minutes, and at fifty, meditate for fifty minutes. Everyday, choose your time and do it. Do not try to sit erect. Sit in a comfortable position, cross your legs, lock you fingers, close your eyes and meditate.

Nine points for healthy life

Follow these nine points for a healthy life

  1. Yukta haar - eat right food
  2. Mita haar - eat right amounts
  3. Nira haar - fast one day in a week
  4. Yukta basha - speak the right things
  5. Mita basha - speak less
  6. Nira basha - observe silence
  7. Yukta yoshana - think the right things
  8. Mita yoshana - think limitedly
  9. Nir yoshana - the state of no thought

Of all these, nir yoshana is the best. And this can be attained only through meditation. When you meditate, don't chant mantras. Let the mind be free. Mind is like a river. It needs to be opened to open the third eye. The 'manas' needs to be stilled. This spiritual quest is called 'manasarover.

Patriji led the group into meditation for 30 minutes. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr Aditya Ahluwalia of Life Positive Foundation
